On Saturday, 12 October 2024, the girls in Darmaria Study Center, ranging from high school students to young professionals, shared happiness and joy through charity with the children at Karya Kasih Orphanage at Jalan Gembongan, Surabaya City. Before visiting the orphanage, the volunteers gathered donations from many friends to help fund the visit. Then on Saturday, the volunteers arrived at 10.00 WIB and was welcomed by the orphan keeper, Bu Rama.

First, the volunteers gathered in a circle along with the children. Everyone was brimming with excitement, and each person began introducing themselves. To get to know everyone better, the introduction was followed by a game of charades, which brought laughter to the whole room. Then, everyone sang ‘Laskar Pelangi’ together. After that, a sharing session was held. The children, young and old, shared their stories and struggles with the volunteers. Lastly, before parting ways, the Darmaria volunteers distributed bags of donations, which consisted of a rice box, daily necessities, clothes, books, and some cash money. Of course, pictures were taken to preserve the memories.

From the visit, everyone felt happy, gained new insights and also experience. Though the time was short, the memories made was surely etched in our hearts
