Talk on Self-control

On Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 17.00 WIB, the Darmaria Study Center held a talk with the theme "The Art of Self-Control: The Ways to Become Your Own Master", delivered by Erna Erlanwaty. A number of students and young professionals attended the talk online via Zoom, which lasted approximately 1.5 hours. Erna emphasized the importance of having the ability to control and discipline oneself, explaining that failing to do so can have a detrimental effect on a person's life. She gave examples of how this could be a problem for students and young professionals, stating, "If they cannot be disciplined in carrying out their roles, then that will become a problem later." In addition, Erna highlighted the importance of controlling one's emotions, as it is easy to take spontaneous actions that one may later regret. She suggested taking a moment to "cool down" and use mindfulness and deep breathing techniques. Erna concluded that those who are able to control themselves are their own masters and that with perseverance and a noble intention, one can win every battle.
